Peak Power Pack 12.8 V 30 Ah at an angle — blue cover and connector panel with mover and domestic terminals
Peak Power Pack
12.8 V LiFePO4 battery with built-in charger and protections — designed for caravans. The “mover” output delivers up to 150 A continuously (200 A for 10 s) for the manoeuvring drive, the “domestic” output powers lights, pump, TV or fridge. It charges from a 230 V supply, from the vehicle installation through the caravan socket, or from a solar panel. One-button operation with LED.
- 12.8 V LiFePO4
- 20 / 30 / 40 Ah
- mover 150 A
- domestic 30 A
- built-in charger
Light battery for the mover and caravan installation
The mover — the caravan manoeuvring drive — draws a very high current for a few minutes. The Peak Power Pack provides it from the “mover” output (150 A continuously), while also powering small loads from the “domestic” output. Both paths are short-circuit proof and protected against overdischarge of the battery.
The charger is built in: all you need is the supplied power supply, the caravan socket in the car, or a solar panel. The “car/solar” input automatically limits current and regulates charging voltage, so you can connect any 11–25 V source to it.
- LiFePO4 cells, 92% cycle efficiency, less than 1% capacity loss per 100 full cycles (25 °C),
- storage mode — almost zero consumption, the battery will not discharge while parked,
- VE.Direct port: operation and monitoring from a phone (VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart key) or a computer (VE.Direct–USB interface),
- according to the manual, service life is 7–10 years under normal use.

The Peak Power Pack is not suitable for connection with other batteries — if connected in series, overload and short-circuit protections may not work. You cannot use it to start a car either.

Common: 12.8 V; self-discharge below 1.4 mA (13 Ah/year) when on, below 0.7 mA (6.5 Ah/year) in storage mode. Charging 0…+40 °C, discharging −20…+40 °C, storage −20…+40 °C — outside this range, neither charging nor discharging is possible. Humidity up to 95% non-condensing. Fast charging via outputs: recommended 14 V, max. 14.2 V — without protection on the battery side.
Peak Power Pack in a caravan
Two charging inputs and two outputs: mover directly, caravan installation through a fuse near the battery. Schematic based on the manual.
- Power supply15 V, 3 A to the “adapter” socket.
- Car/solarCaravan socket or 12 V panel, 11–25 V, max. 7 A.
- MoverDirect to the “mover” output, 10–16 mm² cable, 2 Nm.
- DomesticThrough a fuse up to 10 cm from the terminal (1.5 mm²: 10 A, 2.5 mm²: 16 A).
Cables to the outputs: only fine-stranded copper wire (conductors max. 0.4 mm / 0.125 mm², class 5, e.g. H07V-K). Thicker conductors give too little contact, overheating and, in extreme cases, fire.
From mains, from the car, from the sun
- 230 V power supply (included): 15 V, 3 A to the “adapter” socket. Any campsite hook-up will do.
- Car: in the 13-pin Jaeger socket (Multicon WeST uses the same numbering), use pin 9 (permanent 12 V, ground 13) or 10 (12 V ignition-switched, ground 11). Pin 10 charges only with the ignition on, but in many cars it is not connected. Both are usually protected by a 20 A fuse; an absorption fridge draws up to 10 A — if other loads are running, switch it to gas.
- 12 V solar panel: to the car/solar input; the PPP regulates the voltage itself and limits current to 7 A, so the panel may be slightly “oversized”.
- Fast via the outputs (PPP-30 and PPP-40): an external battery charger or inverter/charger to the mover output (15 or 20 A), recommended 14 V, max. 14.2 V.
From the car, the PPP draws at most 7 A. With pin 9, be careful not to discharge the car battery while parked — disconnect the plug during longer stops.

Button and LED
| Action / state | Effect | LED |
|---|---|---|
| brief press | mover output on for 30 minutes; domestic on permanently | red on |
| hold for 2 s | both outputs on permanently | red slow flashing |
| hold for 5 s | storage mode: both outputs off, charging still possible | blue flashes 10 times |
| charging from car/solar | — | blue slow flashing |
| battery charged | — | blue on |
| overload, short circuit or overheating | output off | red flashing |
Via VE.Direct (Bluetooth dongle or USB interface) you can also switch the outputs and the car/solar input on and off, and view voltage, temperature and alarms. Note: GlobalLink does not work with Peak Power Pack, despite the VE.Direct port.
Most common problems
No power
Battery flat — charge it. If the red LED flashes: short circuit on the output (check the wiring) or overheating (wait until it cools).
Mover switches off
Overload: check tyre pressure and roller pressure, avoid burying the jockey wheel and hitting kerbs; choose a larger PPP for a heavy caravan.
Does not charge in frost
Charging works from 0 °C. Move the battery to a warmer place.
Care
Before first use, charge fully. Charge after every use and at least once a year. Before winter storage, charge and switch to storage mode (for seasonal use, keep at least 50% charged).
Inconsistencies in the manual: in the operation section, the mover output switches off after 30 minutes, while the FAQ says 20; storage mode is activated by holding for 5 s, while the winter storage FAQ says 10 s. The FAQ also mentions an “8 Ah model”, which is not offered.
Peak Power Pack FAQ
How long will the mover run?
It depends on the mover, caravan weight and surface. The manual gives roughly 10 minutes for a 1,600 kg caravan on fairly level ground; larger PPPs give proportionally more time. Frequent stopping and starting does not reduce it.
Can I fully discharge the Peak Power Pack?
Yes — it switches off by itself when fully discharged. However, charge it immediately after use so as not to shorten its life.
Is it charged when purchased?
Not fully — around 60–80% — and it is in storage mode. Hold the button for 5 s and charge it fully before first use.
Can it power the caravan’s electrical system?
Yes, from the “domestic” output (30 A continuous): lights, water pump, TV, satellite antenna. After use, disconnect the loads so they do not discharge the battery.
Can I connect 12 V from the car and 230 V at the same time?
Yes. If you want to connect the car and a solar panel to the car/solar input at the same time, you need a diode bridge to avoid reverse current.
